SOLUBILITY Soluble in Chloroform and Potassium
Hydroxide solution.
CHARACTERISTICS Off white to yellowish crystalline powder, almost odourless.
IDENTIFICATION The infrared spectrum of KBr disc, should match with that of the standard.
UV-ABSORBANCE Exhibits a maximum at 277nm, in 0.1N HCL solution in UV range, with concentration being 5 mcg. per ml.
IMPURITY (BY HPLC) Total impurities not more than 1.5%, any single impurity not more than 1.0%.
RELATED SUBSTANCES (BY GC) Not more than 0.1% as per B.P.
LOSS OF DRYING Not more than 1.05, when dried in Vaccum
RESIDUAL SOLVENT Complies as per B.P. Standard
SULPHATED ASH Not more than 0.1%
ASSAY ( POTENTIOMETRIC TITRATION WITH 0.5M SOD. ) Contains not less than 98.00% of C9H13NO2 calculated on dried basis.
STORAGE Keep in airtight, moisture and light resistant containers. The drums should be stored at about 20 degrees C., in a cool shaded place.
STANDARD PACKING 25kg, 10kg, and 5kg Fibre drums.
